For most flooding issues, we usually remove everything from the floor, remove the water, and keep the home free of everyone except our technicians until we finish the entire home. Because Wallace’s son had a deadline to meet, we could not remove him from home for the entire day.

To keep him working, we quickly developed a plan with Wallace and explained each task. Our team split the job into a smaller task, setting up a workspace, and then a larger one, drying out the rest of the home.

We still had to remove the water first of course. We brought in a pump and started near the kitchen to eliminate the water there first. Then, we used long-handled squeegees to push water from the kitchen out the back door of the home. We set up a dehumidifier to draw moisture from the air, dried off the kitchen table and chairs and returned them so Wallace’s son could continue working while we continued with the rest of the home.

It took our work crew slightly over two hours to pump out the rest of the home. We then switched to water extraction wands to draw out any remaining moisture from the carpets and hardwood floors. Fortunately, we arrived quickly, and there was no drywall or other building material for us to remove and replace. Technicians finished drying the home using air movers to send ward, dry air over the carpets and floors and more dehumidifiers to lower the inside humidity to acceptable levels.
