Here are a few quick tips to ensure that you are ready to “weather the storm”:

· Unplug your everyday appliances: Only keep the appliances plugged in that are absolutely necessary. Remember that appliances which are turned off but remain plugged in may still be damaged.

· Locate the safes place in your home: Bring all family and pets to a safe place until the storm passes. This is generally a basement or a hallway bathroom that has no exterior walls. Beware of windows!
